Understanding ECE Degrees

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) offers a variety of degree programs tailored to meet the diverse needs and interests of students pursuing careers in ECE. Each degree program is structured to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of engineering principles, practical skills, and innovative technologies.

Degree Programs

Undergraduate Programs

  • Computer Engineering (CpE), BS - Focuses on the design and development of computer systems by integrating electrical engineering and computer science. Students gain expertise in hardware/software integration, digital systems, and computer architecture.
  • Electrical Engineering (EE), BS -  Provides a solid foundation in electrical engineering principles such as circuit analysis, electronics, and signal processing. Prepares students for careers in fields like telecommunications, power systems, and robotics.

Blended BS-MS Program

  • Blended BS–MS in Computer Engineering - An accelerated option that allows students to earn both bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Ideal for students who want to deepen their technical skills and prepare for advanced roles in the industry.

Graduate Programs

  • Computer Engineering (CpE), MS - Offers advanced coursework and research opportunities in areas like embedded systems, network security, and software engineering.
  • Electrical Engineering (EE), MS - Enables students to specialize in fields such as renewable energy, control systems, and communication technologies through advanced study and research.
