Overview

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) offers two ABET-accredited undergraduate programs leading to a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical Engineering (EE) or Computer Engineering (CpE). These rigorous programs provide a solid foundation in math, science, and engineering, combined with hands-on experience through labs, design projects, and internships. Emphasizing critical thinking, teamwork, ethics, and communication, the curriculum prepares graduates for success as entry-level engineers or for advanced study in graduate programs.

Choosing Your Focus: EE or CpE

  • Electrical Engineering (EE) students focus on the electrical aspects of engineering, gaining expertise in circuit analysis, electronics, and signal processing. They learn to design, analyze, and optimize electrical systems, preparing them for EE careers such as telecommunications, power systems, renewable energy, and control systems.
  • Computer Engineering (CpE) students concentrate on the integration of hardware and software, exploring digital systems, computer architecture, and embedded systems. They acquire skills in designing and developing computer-based systems, preparing them for CpE careers such as hardware design, software development, hardware security, and AI engineering.
