Greg Childers, Ph.D.
Director, General Education Program
Dr. Greg Childers joined the Department of Physics at CSUF in 2002 after completing a Ph.D. in Atomic Physics at the University of Kentucky. He played a key role revitalizing curriculum for both physics majors and non-majors and served as the undergraduate advisor for the department. In addition to numerous other committee assignments, he served on the GE committee 11 years, including five terms as chair of the committee, led the NSM Assessment committee nine years, and has served on the Academic Senate since 2017. Dr. Childers was designated the NSM Outstanding Untenured Faculty Member in 2009 and received the 2022 John W. “Jack” Bedell Faculty Leadership in Collegial Governance award. As Director of General Education at Cal State Fullerton, he is excited to provide leadership and support while working with all campus partners to respond to evolving GE requirements by building a resilient and responsive general education program that preserves our campus commitment to breadth in undergraduate education.
