HTCC (Honors Transfer Council of California) Pathway

The HTCC Pathway is for students who have completed Honors coursework from another institution. Students can transfer up to 12 units of lower division Honors coursework towards the 15 units of required Honors seminars.

Students must complete at least three units in Upper Division Honors coursework at CSUF.

This pathway takes a minimum of two years to complete.

Students who are transferring in less than six units of Honors credit from another institution will follow the curriculum requirements for the Upper Division Pathway.

Requirements at A Glance - 12-18 units of Honors*

3-12 Units of Honors G.E. Seminars (*Depending on HTCC credits)

Students must complete 15 units of Honors GE coursework and can transfer in up to 12 units from an HTCC program

YEAR 1

Honors Requirements: Year 1

Students in the University Honors Program should consult regularly with the director.

Fall

  • Make sure your TDA has given you credit for your Honors coursework.
    • Submit the HTCC Report of Student Participation in Honors to honors.advising@fullerton.edu (if you did not do so as part of your application). Please make sure that this is signed by the Honors Director from your community college.
      OR
    • Submit copies of your honors syllabi to honors.advising@fullerton.edu
  • Enroll in at least one 300-level Honors seminar course (301B, 301T, 303T, 304T, 305, 306).
  • Take HONR 100 (1-unit)

Spring

  • Take HONR 200 (1-unit) and HONR 300 (1-unit).
  • Take additional 300-level Honors seminar courses as required

Other Reminders

  • A minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA is required in order to graduate with honors.
  • Completing a senior honors project is required.
  • Students must complete a total of 15 units of Honors/GE courses by graduation. This includes up to 12 units that you can transfer in from other Honors programs.

YEAR 2

Honors Requirements: Year 2

Students in the University Honors Program should consult regularly with the director.

Honors Colloquiums 

  • Take HONR 400. You must take 400 during the semester that you plan to finish your SHP.

Senior Honors Project (2 Semesters)

  • 1st Semester -  Take Honors 497** (3 units) under supervision of Faculty Mentor
  • 2nd Semester - Take Honors 497** (2 units) under supervision of Faculty Mentor 

**Honors 497 is an independent study course to complete your Senior Honors Project. You can be issued a permit to register once you have a Full-Time CSUF Faculty who has agreed to mentor your Senior Honors Project.

University Honors Program Completion Requirements

  • Students must complete a total of 15 units of Honors/GE courses by graduation. This includes up to 12 units that you can transfer in from other Honors programs.
  • A total of 4 units of Honors Colloquium courses
  • A total of 5 units of 497 SHP Projects.
  • Completion of a senior honors project, a formal presentation at the SHP Conference, and a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA to graduate with honors.
