Honors Curriculum and Courses

The University Honors program is rooted in high-impact educational practices, and encourages students to enrich their undergraduate experience by taking a range of courses that encourage interdisciplinary approaches to critical thinking, scholarly inquiry, and engaged citizenship. The culminating experience is a senior honors project, which provides students the opportunity to develop a mentoring relationship with a faculty member and engage in student-faculty research, the creation of an interdisciplinary portfolio, or the development of a creative project.

Both groups (four year pathway and upper division pathway) will complete four colloquium classes and 5 units of the senior honors project. Students who are enrolled in the four year pathway will complete 24 credits in Honors, and students enrolled in the upper division pathway will complete 18 credits in Honors.  Students who graduate with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher will receive a “University Honors distinction” on their transcript and diploma.
