WHY CHOOSE CSUF Aging Studies

The growth of the older population has created a demand for well-trained specialists that understand the aging process and have the knowledge and expertise to meet the biological, psychological, social and health needs of an aging population.

CSUF offers specialized programs that address gaps in research, prepare students for graduate school and present them with hands-on training opportunities.

MSTEM Scholars Trained in Aging Research Program: Students spend two years conducting paid research alongside a faculty mentor, participate in a summer internship and have opportunities to work directly with older adults.

Cultivating Autonomy through Technology Laboratory (CATLAB): Students in CATLAB design, develop and test assistive technology prototypes that will support senior living.

Fibromyalgia and Chronic Pain Support Group: Students advance aging research while working one-on-one with the community they want to serve.
