Why Choose CSUF Religious Studies

In our program, students study religious beliefs, traditions, texts and practices that impact how people see the world. Not only do our courses examine how the world’s religions interact in relation to one another, but they also explore religion’s effects on other parts of life, including politics, media and philosophy. Our program will prepare you to think, write and speak with clarity and precision, conduct research on complex issues, and listen to and relate to others with understanding and respect.

You will have opportunities to collaborate with faculty experts who have researched such areas as Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Jainism, Judaism, Native American spirituality and Sikhism.

CAREER PATH

Our students graduate with the ability to communicate effectively, present their perspectives on complex subjects and think creatively. They are prepared to pursue graduate studies and go on to achieve successful careers in such fields as law, education, counseling and social work.
