WHY CHOOSE CSUF Women and Gender Studies

CSUF students in women and gender studies are interested in learning about gender, race and sexuality in society using feminist and queer theory. Cross-disciplinary in structure, the CSUF program draws from a wide variety of courses offered by many departments across the university, and its faculty members are internationally recognized scholars.

Students develop research and communication skills that help them prosper in all areas of their university education and beyond. The program produces students ready to excel in academia, nonprofit work, education, counseling, human services and any area that values social justice and an understanding of how gender, race, sexuality, ethnicity, and class affect our experiences.

CAREER PATH

Women and gender studies graduates are highly competitive for employment and internships in fields including social work, counseling, education, healthcare, social service, government and nonprofit advocacy.
