Splashtop Business Application

Splashtop is a downloaded application that allows you to connect remotely from Mac or PC to a virtual computer running Mac applications.

Splashtop has a four hour limit, save often.

What is Splashtop Business?

You can run software remotely just like you were sitting in front of the machine.  This allows us to provide software packages to you that are not boing to be taking up space on your hard drive and you can access them from anywhere.

Save your work

Remember that you are not on your own machine when using remote software.  Save your files to Dropbox or another cloud solution that you have access to and not on the virtual machine's desktop or other folder.  This will ensure that you can keep your work and load it later.  When the remote session ends, the Splashtop Business computer will delete your files so you need to save them to another location before you leave.

There is a four hour session limit when using Splashtop, make sure you save regularly in case of an unexpected outage.

Your Session:
Start to finish, and interruptions

Hopefully by now you know to save, if not, please save often to a cloud service.

Your session has a  four hour  time limit.

In the event you have a dissconnect you can still access your assigned iMac as long as you are within the four hour session window.  When reconnecting choose the computer you choose when you started your session.

Do not shut down the computer. To end your session, click the Apple icon on the upper-left corner of the screen, and log yourself out.

If you do not save your data before your time is up, your session will automatically end and you will lose any unsaved work.

How to Connect

  1.  Download the Splashtop Business App
    1. Windows users select Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, XP
    2. Mac users select macOS 10.7 or newer
  2. After installation, open the Splashtop application, click "Single Sign-On Login" and log in using your CSUF Portal user name and password.
  3. Once logged in, select a computer you would like to use, go to the very right and click on the “Connect" icon. Remember this computer in case you are disconnected during your session.
  4. You will connect to the computer that you selected.
  5. Log in using your CSUF credentials once again.
  6. Navigate to the software you would like to use by clicking the Finder.

Remember to log out! Click the "Disconnect" icon to the far left on the top toolbar.
