Titan Digital Signage

As part of the Division of Information Technology’s strategic goal of implementing technologies to proactively communicate with and engage the campus community, IT has installed outdoor and indoor digital signs and wayfinding maps.

Digital Content

The content of the digital signage will be dynamic, pertinent to community of users of the area that the signage is installed in, and controllable by the academic and administrative units of those areas.

Titan Digital Signage Standards and Guidelines

The standards and guidelines comprising the Titan Digital Signage Standards and Guidelines apply to all digital signs at Cal State Fullerton that are owned and operated by academic or administrative units.

  • CSUF Information Technology will develop standardized channel layouts for all Digital Content Contributors. User readability will be maintained between buildings and monitors.
  • Digital Signage content must adhere to Cal State Fullerton visual and content standards. Please refer to CSUF Brand Central for the university's brand guidelines.
  • Digital Content Contributors will be able to edit the main content that appears on pre-determined zones of each channel.
  • All announcement bulletins posted to the 85" displays, lobby displays, and planar wall displays should:
    • format images in 1920 px (width) by 1080 px (height)
    • Image files must be JPG or PNG format. - no PDF's will be accepted
    • File sizes need to be under 5mb.
    • TSU Planar and Cashiers Counter Planar main display dimensions are banner format 1024 px (width) by 384 px (height).
    • Please submit all requests to the Helpdesk at helpdesk@fullerton.edu

Accessiblity and Brand Standards

The CSU Accessible Technology Initiative (ATI) is the effort by the California State University (CSU) system to ensure that information and communication technology (ICT) is accessible to all students, faculty, staff, and the wider community. To ensure that your digital signage content is ATI compliant with larger text and color contrast compliance.  Refer to the ATI website for contact and details.

Channel Layouts

Below you will find example options for the four layout choices.  Refer to the option type when submitting your request for signage.

Option 1

Split three quarters main content and a right sidebar which is one quarter wide.  The right sidebar has Titan news and social media feeds.

The main content area has a title across and has a large space below for your content with a large image to display behind it.

Option 2

Split three quarters main content and a right sidebar which is one quarter wide.  The right sidebar has the date and current courses for the upcoming time period. Titan news displays under that.

The main content area has a title across the top also displays the time.  This may cause longer titles to wrap on two lines. The main screen allows for content over top an image.

Option 3

The screen is split two thirds and one third.  The right sidebar is a third wide and has Titan news and social media feeds under it.

The main content is two thirds wide and has space for the title and main content under it.

Option 4

The screen is split into two halves.  The right side is the Titan news.

The left side is reserved for regular content or a large image.

In addition to digital signs, indoor and outdoor digital touchscreen displays will be deployed to assist with campus navigation.

Note that the Titan Digital Signage system is NOT used to manage wayfinding displays. These displays are managed by the Division of Information Technology using another system.
