Do These Things

Start up with Zoom app

When you start your computer have it automatically start the Zoom app or get into the habit of launching after you log in.

Simultaneous ringtone

Set up a separate audio device to play ringtones simultaneously, like your cell phone or tablet, if you aren't wearing the headset or are away from your primary device you'll still get the call.

Update Zoom app

Keep your Zoom app up-to-date with the latest version.  You may be prompted periodically to upgrade your Zoom, make sure you get all the updates to keep your experience the best it can be.

MFA DUO app as backup

Use the Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) DUO app as a backup if you respond to MFA calls via your office extension.

Don't Do these Things

Login on multiple devices

Don’t login on multiple devices for each device-type. Your Zoom license allows 1 device for PC/MAC, 1 for mobile, and 1 for tablet. Multiple logins on the same devicetype will  automatically disconnect you.

Roam and call via WiFi

Don't use Wi-Fi when taking Zoom Phone calls on the go around campus. Disabling WiFi temporarily during the Zoom call can keep the conversation uninterrupted.

Close the Zoom app

Don't close or log out of the Zoom app on your laptop / mobile devices, or you will miss phone calls; instead, minimize the app.

Dial 9 for external calls

There is no need to dial 9 when starting calls to an outside line.  Zoom phones will work just as any regular phone.
