Latinx Heritage Month
September 15 – October 15
Latinx Heritage Month 2024
Join us in celebrating Latinx Heritage Month (September 15 – October 15) and Hispanic-Serving Institutions Week (September 9 - 15).
The month will kick off with the celebration of Hispanic-Serving Institutions Week (HSI Week), beginning Sept. 9 - 15. CSUF was granted its HSI designation in 2004. This designation is given to campuses that enroll over 25% Latinx students. On our campus, we pride ourselves in our efforts beyond the designation and focus on intentionally serving our Latinx students through the myriad of programs and services offered.
The celebration will continue throughout the months of September and October. Latinx Heritage Month is a commemoration that is linked to the independence anniversaries of several Latin American nations and uplifts the cultural legacy of a group deeply rooted in rich traditions. We hope programming will reflect the importance of empowerment and the honoring of multiple communities within Latinidad.
Cal State Fullerton has a strong commitment to supporting Latinx students. Our commitment has resulted in the university recently being named a Fulbright Hispanic-Serving Institution by the U.S. Department of State and a recipient of the Seal of Excelencia from Excelencia in Education, the nation’s premier authority in advancing Latinx student success.
