PRogramming - What we're known for

Rainbow Welcome

Our annual welcome back luncheon, at the start of fall semester, where LGBTQ+ students, staff, faculty, and alumni can connect with one another and learn about the various LGBTQ resources offered on campus and in the Orange County community. This program often features a resource fair and alumni panel of former LGBTQ student leaders.

National Coming Out Week (NCOW)

A week long celebration of LGBTQ identity the week surrounding National Coming Out Day (October 11). This week begins with our university Rainbow Flag Raising, in which we raise the Inclusive Rainbow Flag in front of Langsdorf Hall, as a statement of affirmmation and support of the LGBTQ+ community on our campus. The very first flag raising ceremony was held on October 7, 2019. NCOW is also highlighted by our annual CSUF Drag Show in collaboration with Housing & Residential Engagement. Additional community and educational programming is held throughout this week.

Lavender Celebration

Held at the end spring semester, this ceremony celebrates the academic accomplishments of our LGBTQ+ undergraduate and graduate students as they prepare to graduate from the university. Each student recieves a lavender cord to commerate their accomplishments and to wear on graduation day.
