Empowering LGBTQ+ Titans

LGBTQ+ History Month is an annual month-long observance of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer history, and the history of the gay rights and related civil rights movements. It was founded in 1994 and each year members of the community take pride in honoring the people that came before us. Additionally, National Coming Out Day is on the 11th of October, chosen to mark the date of the Second March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights in 1987. National Coming Out Day acknowledges the hardships of coming out, but also the joy and importance in being proud of our identities.

Cal State Fullerton celebrates LGBTQ+ History Month by putting on various programs and events surrounding the experience of queer and transgender people. Led by the Losquadro Keller LGBTQ+ Resource Center, the campus creates spaces to celebrate queer and transgender idenitity, discuss systems that impact the community, and empower students to feel affirmed and confident in who they are.

National Coming Out Week: Kick Off

National Coming Out Week marks the beginning of LGBTQ History Month and serves as an opportunity to celebrate the many ways LGBTQIA+ people build community, foster resilience, and create spaces where individuals can live more authentically. The Losquadro Keller LGBTQ Resource Center invites students, faculty, and staff to kick off the week by exploring the history and significance of National Coming Out Day while learning about the diverse identities, experiences, and resources that make up our campus and broader LGBTQIA+ community.

National Coming Out Week: Resource Fair

Hosted during LGBTQ History Month, the National Coming Out Week Resource Fair highlights the wide network of on- and off-campus resources available to LGBTQIA+ students. Bringing together student organizations, campus partners, and community groups, the fair offers affirming materials, opportunities for connection, and visibility for all stages of the coming out journey. This annual event celebrates inclusivity, collaboration, and the ongoing commitment to fostering safety, support, and joy within the Titan community.

CSUF Drag Show

Thursday, October 8
7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., Housing Piazza

Hosted each fall during LGBTQ History Month, the CSUF Drag Show celebrates drag as an art form of self-expression, cultural resistance, and queer joy. Featuring student, alumni, and local performers, this lively event creates an affirming space that honors gender diversity and the rich history of drag within LGBTQIA+ culture. Blending comedy, dance, and fashion with the festive energy of Halloween, the show fosters community, visibility, and education through performance and celebration.

Titan Pride Gala

Thursday, October 22
5:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Golleher Alumni House

TITAN PRIDE GALA is a celebratory evening honoring LGBTQIA+ student achievement, community resilience, and cultural pride. This signature event features performances by current student and alumni drag artists, the student success recognition, and a curated showcase of the impact of LGBTQIA+ identity and history at Cal State Fullerton.
