  • Context on bilingual education in California and what effects this had on the pool of qualified bilingual teachers
  • Data on the numbers of bilingual teachers in the state and their working conditions, and how these differ for non-bilingual teachers
  • Implications for pre-service and in-service professional development of bilingual teachers

Lucrecia Santibañez (Ph.D. Education, M.A. Economics, Stanford University) is a faculty member at UCLA's Graduate School of Education and Information Studies. Her research examines how to improve teaching and learning for low-income, english learners, and other vulnerable populations in the United States and internationally in Latin American and Southeast Asia.
