Santa Ana Innovation Scholars
McNair Scholars provides opportunities for CSUF undergraduate students to engage in research, and develop skills and student/faculty mentor relationships that are critical to success at the doctoral level. The program provides year-round services to prepare participants for acceptance into quality graduate programs. CSUF McNair Scholars serves 25 students each year. All students participate in academic-year and summer activities until they graduate.
An endowment was established to provide a scholarship program aimed at enhanced degree completion and success at Cal State Fullerton and beyond for students from Santa Ana Unified School District. The goal of the Scholarship is to enhance college completion and success in the baccalaureate and beyond. About 26 scholarships for $2,000 are awarded to students who graduated from an SAUSD high school and enrolled at CSUF, or transferred to CSUF from Santa Ana College. Scholars are paired with a mentor, participate in seminars, and information. In 2015, $5 million Innovation Award from the California Department of Finance was presented to the Santa Ana Partnership, a collaborative effort with SAUSD, Santa Ana College, CSUF, and UC Irvine. Of this award, $1 million was provided to CSUF to establish a scholarship endowment. The university has committed to raising a 1 million dollar match.
