The Summer Undergraduate Research Academy (SUReA) is an annual 10-week program administered through the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) that provides students with the ability to work on their research and creative activities over the summer with the guidance of their faculty mentor. Beyond supporting faculty mentoring and student participation, SUReA also provides workshops to develop students’ presentation skills. Throughout the program, students will be awarded up to $18/hr for up to 20 hours/week while working on their projects. The program concludes with a Summer Student Symposium, where students will be able to present their work. SUReA recognizes the importance of involving undergraduates in research projects and creative activities with faculty mentors across all disciplines

Meet the SUReA Team

Orange Line

While SUReA is supported and administered by ORSP, key programming elements—such as student liaison support and workshop coordination—are made possible through collaboration with the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Center (UROC), a unit within ORSP, and the SUReA Faculty Fellow, who plays a central role in program development and student engagement.
