Titans Thinking Together (T3) is an initiative of the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs that aims to promote collaborative research by bringing together faculty expertise around critically important regional, national, and global problems.  Capitalizing on the collaborative research already taking place on campus, T3 formalizes a way for participants to find campus partners, and provides guidance and incentives for faculty, researchers, and students from different disciplines to generate a cross-pollination of ideas and expertise.

 Goals of T3

The goals of the T3  are focused on enhancing cross-campus collaborations among CSUF faculty to address critical problems facing the local community and California. Specifically, T3  aims to:

  1. Facilitate Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Encourage faculty from various disciplines and colleges to work together, leveraging complementary expertise to tackle regional and state challenges.
  2. Support Research and Creative Activities: Provide guidance and financial resources to foster innovative research projects that align with priority areas, enhancing the value of CSUF as a regional partner.
  3. Enhance Student Opportunities: Create more opportunities for students through faculty-mentored research, preparing them to be engaged, problem-solving participants in society.
  4. Host Collaborative Events: Organize meetings, workshops, and forums to spotlight projects, expand collaborations, and facilitate discussions with external and campus resources.
  5. Promote Professional Development: Support faculty and research teams in participating in professional development, conferences, and community-building events.

Housing Crisis in California

Joel Abraham, PhD

Joel Abraham, PhD

Professor Joel K. Abraham is a faculty member at California State University, Fullerton, where he serves as a Professor in the Biological Science department. He earned his PhD in Integrative Biology from the University of California, Berkeley, and his BS in Biology from Howard University. Research in his lab focuses on biology education, educational technology, fostering competency in graph construction, plant ecology, and urban agriculture. As the former Director of the Catalyst Center, Dr. Abraham strove to foster connections across campus colleges to accelerate research in science and math teaching and learning. Dr. Abraham recently returned from a professional leave with the National Science Foundation, where his work as a Program Director in the Division of Biological Infrastructure supported interdisciplinary research and education networks, postdoctoral fellows, and broader access and participation in science. He joins the T3 Program as a faculty fellow to support the creation, growth, and sustainability of new research hubs at CSUF.
