Undergraduate Academic Notice
(formerly academic probation)

  • If you stopped attendance while on Academic Notice you may be eligible for re-admission as either lower division or upper division transfer, and with your CSUF GPA as is. However, if you have taken courses outside of CSUF since you stopped attending, your Cumulative/Total GPA needs to be 2.0.
  • To review eligibility requirements and readiness to apply, please reach out to an Open University advisor.
  • Contact academic advisors at the Academic Advising Center or at the various college-based student success teams. They are prepared to answer your questions as well.

Undergraduate Academic Disqualification

  • Effective fall 2025 admission, returning students that experienced academic disqualification will need to improve the Total (cumulative) GPA to 2.0, or higher. The Total (cumulative) GPA is a combination of both CSUF and Transfer GPA's.
  • Any work since disqualification at other accredited
institutions affects the cumulative GPA, but not the CSUF GPA. Both the CSUF and the Total (cumulative) GPA's must be 2.0 or higher to graduate. Only courses taken at CSUF will impact the CSUF GPA, including courses completed via CSUF's Open University
  • Before taking next steps, complete Academic Disqualification Advising either by individual appointment, or an ADQ Webinar. Consult with an Open University advisor.
