The Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL) team coordinates and oversees educational and developmental programs throughout the academic year. These programs are designed to equip students and their respective chapters within the FSL community at Cal State Fullerton with the necessary tools and resources for their tenure at the university.

Furthering our efforts to build an inclusive community, our area conducts supporting programming which infuses DEI concepts within its curriculum in order to introduce student leaders and general membership to social justice topics they may encounter during their time at CSUF.

FSL Programs

Leadership Path

Active students in our FSL community wishing to expand their leadership skills can participate in our FSL Leadership Path. This leadership path is in collaboration with the Student Life & Leadership (SLL) Leadership Program. Students who participate in the path will attend events throughout the semester, including leadership seminars, to satisfy the path’s requirements. Students who complete their path will be recognized at the FSL Honor Banquet.

Becoming A Member (BAM) Training

“Becoming a Member” (BAM) is a new member orientation for students who are participating in the new member process of an FSL chapter on campus. BAM is designed to deliver educational and informative content that will provide the student with the tools needed to make informed decisions about their well-being. There are four presentations that include the following topics, Title IX presented by Title IX, Alcohol and Other Drugs presented by TitanWell, Mental Health presented by CAPS, and Hazing Prevention presented by FSL.

All new members are required to attend one session in the semester that they join the FSL community. These sessions can be found at the beginning of the semester on TitanLink.

We recognize the level of dedication and enthusiasm FSL student leaders contribute to the community by creating a FSL Honors Award application. Students can be nominated by their peers or self-nominated for an individual award, Chapters can submit for chapter awards, and Council members may be nominated for an individual award by an individual within the same council.

Council-Led Programs

In conjunction with the Fraternity and Sorority Life staff all of our councils plan throughout the year to provide council-led programming to the FSL community. Below are some of the signature programs that members of our community can participate in.

Greek Week

Greek Week stands as a week-long program dedicated to fostering unity and strengthening the relationship among FSL chapters, FSL councils, and departments at Cal State Fullerton. This event places a spotlight on the pillars of service/philanthropy and brotherhood/sisterhood. Collaborating with Basic Needs, the Queer Resource Center, and ASI’s Food Pantry, the FSL community donates needed items. In addition, the community collects monetary contributions which are given to the Children’s Center.

Adding an element of friendly competition, events such as kickball and spirited chants infuse an exciting energy throughout the week. To enhance the sense of community, alumni are also invited to join a CSUF Baseball game. The week concludes on Friday, where awards are bestowed.

Greek Week 2024 was held on March 18th through March 22nd. Throughout the week there was a total of $10,268.21 raised to support the Children's Center's project of purchasing a large outdoor shade structure to improve outdoor play. Additionally, there was a total of 10,499 items donated to Tuffy's Basic Needs, the ASI Food Pantry, and the Gender Affirming Closet. We are so proud of the contributions our FSL Community has made to our campus partners within this week!

IFC Cup

The InterFraternity Council (IFC) hosts the IFC Cup event in the Fall semester, extending invitations to active Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL) organizations to partake. The IFC Cup comprises both sports competitions and fundraising efforts. While the specific sports competitions may vary by year, common choices include dodgeball, kickball, and soccer. Participants in the IFC Cup are also encouraged to engage in fundraising efforts, with the winner of the IFC Cup earning the honor of deciding where the proceeds will be directed.

The Yardshow

During the month of May, the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) gathers for their annual Yardshow, a cherished tradition hosted by the Phi Lambda chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. This event serves as a platform to spotlight NPHC’s Divine Nine organizations and has been a significant presence on the CSUF campus since 2003. Additionally, the occasion features step and stroll routines, food, and community strengthening.
