About
The Office of Student Life and Leadership is thrilled to host our 11th annual Tuffy Awards Ceremony! Join us on Wednesday, May 7th, in TSU Pavilion B & C as we celebrate the achievements of student organizations and their members who have impacted the Titan community.
Tuffy Awards is sponsored by the Division of Student Affairs and the Student Success Initiative.
Awards & Criteria
Tuffy Awards is a time for everyone to come together to recognize the virtual contributions of student organizations to CSUF and the Titan Community. Please help us celebrate another outstanding year by nominating an individual or student organization. Nominations for the Spring 2025 Tuffy Awards are now open! Submit a nomination form here.
Celebrate the achievements of an outstanding individual, program, or student organization by submitting a nomination for the Tuffy Awards! Please take a moment to review the Award Descriptions below.

Wednesday, May 7th, during the Tuffy Awards Ceremony

Individual Awards
Advisor of the Year
This award honors a faculty or staff advisor who has made a significant, positive impact on their student organization by fostering an environment of learning, growth, and leadership development.
Eligibility:
- Be a Faculty/Staff Advisor for a recognized organization registered with Student Life and Leadership.
- Have successfully completed Advisor Training with Titan Training Hub (TTH).
- Have served as the advisor throughout the 2024 - 2025 academic year.
- Not be a member of the Student Life and Leadership Department.
Outstanding Advocate of the Year
This award honors an individual who made meaningful and lasting contributions to enhancing the academic, professional, and personal growth of students and staff at CSUF. Faculty, staff, and students are all eligible for nomination.
President of the Year
This award recognizes an outstanding student organization president who has advanced the mission of their organization while challenging and encouraging members to execute initiatives, acquire skills, and prepare the group for successful leadership transition and ongoing success.
Eligibility:
- The award recipient must have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA
Member of the Year
This award honors a student who actively contributed to their organization during the 2024 - 2025 academic year and made a significant and immediate impact in advancing its goals and mission.
Eligibility:
- The nominee cannot be a student officer.
Titans Leaving Their Legacies
This award recognizes an individual who has demonstrated a commitment to their organization and was instrumental in creating a positive impact on the campus community.
Eligibility:
- To qualify for this award, nominees must have a minimum 2.5 GPA.
- Self-nominated individuals will need to submit a professional or on-campus reference in order to be eligible for this award.
- Nominee must have graduated in Fall 2024, Spring 2025, or Summer 2025.
Group Awards

Alumni Engagement Award
This award is intended to acknowledge student organizations that have made an effort to maintain and develop relationships with alumni, and fostered a sense of Titan Pride to encourage their members to become active alumni. The recipient of this award will be able to host a meeting or alumni-related program at the Golleher Alumni House in the 2025 - 2026 academic year.
Terms and Conditions:
- Maximum 2 hour event, with up to 2 hours aside for set up and clean up (total 4 hours free)
- Tables and chairs provided for meetings/panels set up, no equipment for events.
Additional costs for the event should be considered. Please contact alumnihouse@fullerton.edu when you are ready to schedule your event.
Student Organization of the Year
This award recognizes an organization in good standing with the University that has demonstrated outstanding achievement and organizational development compared to other student organizations on campus. The award highlights how the organization has positively impacted the CSUF campus or the broader community.
Emergent Organization of the Year
This award recognizes a student organization that has been active on campus for less than two years and has shown exceptional dedication to enhancing the Titan Community. Eligible organizations have demonstrated a significant positive impact during their early years of operation.
Eligibility:
- The organization must have been active for less than two years.
- Organizations involved in conduct-related absences do not qualify for this award.
Titans in Service
This award recognizes an outstanding organization that positively contributed to CSUF and the community.
Eligibility:
- To qualify for this award, nominees must have a minimum of 20 community service hours listed in TitanLink.
Collaborative Program of the Year
This award recognizes an organization that worked in partnership with at least one other recognized student organization, campus department, or community agency to successfully host a program on campus.
Outstanding Program in Member Development
This award recognizes an organization that provides an opportunity for members to experience personal and/or professional development.
Outstanding Program in Academia
This award recognizes a student organization that implemented an exceptional educational program during the current academic year. The program made a meaningful impact by supporting participants’ academic or professional growth or raising awareness about a specific topic or subject.
Outstanding Program in Diversity and Inclusion
This award recognizes a student organization that has made impactful efforts to promote diversity and inclusion while fostering a deeper understanding of these values within the campus community.
Outstanding Program in Health and Wellness
This award recognizes a student organization that has organized an initiative, event, or series of events focused on promoting mental, physical, spiritual, or overall health and wellness.
Program of the Year
Nominees for this award must be a recognized organization registered with Student Life and Leadership. The recipient of this award will be determined from recipients of Collaborative Program of the Year, Outstanding Program in Member Development, Outstanding Program in Academia, and Outstanding Program in Diversity and Inclusion.
Tuffy Innovation Award
This award recognizes a student organization that has demonstrated exceptional creativity and originality in thinking outside the box . It celebrates organizations that prioritize innovation by enhancing an existing project or initiative. This can include programming, membership or creative marketing.
Best Social Media Presence
Is your student organization a powerhouse on social media? Show off your club’s digital impact by nominating yourselves for Best Social Media Presence at Tuffy Awards!
How to Nominate:
Tag Student Life and Leadership (@csufsll) on Instagram and use the hashtags #TuffyAwards2025 #BestSocialMedia to enter!
Criteria:
Posting Consistency - Keeping your audience engaged with regular content.
Engagement - Interacting with other clubs, departments, and students.
Followers - Build a strong and active online community.
Once nominations are complete, the Office of Student Life and Leadership will contact finalists to submit a standout post that best represents your club’s social media excellence. This post will be featured for live voting during the Tuffy Awards Ceremony!
