CSUF Counseling Services

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) provides a variety of clinical services designed to meet the many different concerns experienced by CSUF students. The clinical needs of students range from normative developmental changes to more serious emerging or on-going mental health concerns; from a disrupting life event to a life-threatening crisis; or from supportive counseling and psychoeducation to ongoing psychotherapy. Our licensed clinical staff is specifically trained in college student mental health therapeutic approaches and committed to providing professional services that meet the specific needs of undergraduate and graduate students. CAPS takes pride in being an agency that operates from multicultural, multidisciplinary, and multi-theoretical perspectives.

At Cal State Fullerton Counseling & Psychological Services, we are committed to providing a safe space for addressing ethnic, cultural, gender, sexual orientation, ability, and other factors that impact our students’ abilities to thrive, succeed, and matter, with a particular focus on how these factors impact our students’ educational experiences and relationships. We value and prioritize our students, staff, and faculty from all backgrounds and walks of life.

CSUF Title IX & Gender Equity

In order to make sure Cal State Fullerton is in compliance with Title IX, the Title IX and Gender Equity Office is responsible for ensuring that all programs and activities at Cal State Fullerton are free from sex and gender-based discrimination.  This applies to all academic, educational, extracurricular, and athletic activities (both on and off campus).  The California State University (CSU) has defined gender to include sex (which includes, but is not limited to pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding or any related medical conditions), gender identity, gender expression, transgender and sex stereotyping.  In addition to sex-based discrimination, sexual harassment, sexual misconduct, dating violence, domestic violence, stalking, and retaliation are all prohibited by CSU policy and addressed by Title IX and Gender Equity.  In order to do this, the work of Title IX and Gender Equity staff is divided in three areas.

CSUF Dean of Students and Conduct

The Dean of Students Office helps Titans reach higher by serving as an advocate for students, connecting them to appropriate university resources, and collaborating meaningfully with the campus community.

We assist students in navigating the university and resolving educational, personal, and other concerns that impact the quality of their Titan experience.

The Student Conduct team promotes academic integrity, student rights and responsibilities, and standards of conduct for the University community.

Student Conduct is responsible for investigating alleged violations of the Student Conduct Code and for adjudicating complaints in a fair and consistent manner. This includes receiving reports of alleged misconduct, ensuring that students receive due process and fair treatment throughout the hearing process, and maintaining students' disciplinary records. Additionally, Student Conduct staff is committed to informing students of their rights as members of the university community and educating them regarding the responsibilities they have to themselves and the other members of the university community.
