Merri Lynn Casem, Ph.D.

Dr. Merri Lynn Casem is a proud CSUF Titan (class of 1984). Dr. Casem earned her Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Biology at the University of California, Riverside and joined the Department of Biological Science at Cal State Fullerton in 2000 where she has played an important role in the development of student-centered, inquiry-based curriculum in biology and the development of the novel transdisciplinary Explore Core instructional model implemented in CNSM 101 Think Like Einstein. Dr. Casem has served on numerous committees, has been a member of the CSUF Academic Senate since 2014, and chaired the CSUF General Education Task Force in 2018. She is the recipient of the Carol Barnes Outstanding Teaching award and the John W. “Jack” Bedell Faculty Leadership in Collegial Governance award.
