Overview

SCAR Day provides CSUF students the opportunity to showcase their research, scholarship, and creative activities during CSUF's Research Week. SCAR Day is an amazing opportunity to present your work locally and build your professional network by joining CSUF’s research community. All UROC fellowship recipients must attend this conference.

Four reasons to attend SCAR Day

  • Expand your network by sharing and testing ideas.
    • Conferences are about building and strengthening a sense of community. These events allow you to build relationships with people who share your interests. It empowers you to create a more comprehensive network of people you can learn and keep in contact with while building your career.
  • Expand your knowledge and skills.
    • Whether presenting or attending, being present at a large gathering of like-minded people allows you to share your ideas and plans with others. Not only do you gain the opportunity to speak directly to others about their areas of expertise, but you can also learn quite a bit from the presentations.
  • Improve your communication skills.
    • Soft skills help you to build relationships and communicate more effectively about projects, which is why hiring managers find them so valuable when searching for the right candidate.
  • It’s FUN!
    • Networking doesn’t just have to be for work. You might even make lasting friendships and have some fun along the way.
