Scholarships

Every academic year during the Spring Semester, there will be scholarships available for our military connected students on campus.

VETERAN SUCCESS SCHOLARSHIP

The Veteran Success Scholarship was initiated by CSUF veteran alumni and supported by campus and community donors to foster academic success. Active members of the Student Veterans Association will be given priority consideration for this scholarship, but membership is not required.

Veteran Success Scholarship Details and Requirements:

U.S. military veteran
Demonstrate financial need
Currently enrolled and will be attending CSUF in Fall 2026
Will be taking a minimum of 6 units
Minimum 3.0 Cumulative GPA
*Active members of the Student Veterans Association (SVA) will be given priority consideration for this scholarship, but membership is not required.

  • IF SELECTED, YOU MUST BE ENROLLED IN THE SEMESTER WHEN THE SCHOLARSHIP IS AWARDED IN ORDER TO RECEIVE THE SCHOLARSHIP.
  • HOW SCHOLARSHIPS CAN AFFECT YOUR FINANCIAL AID AWARDS: If you are a financial aid recipient, please understand that funds received from an outside sources or agency for educational expenses (i.e. scholarships fee waivers, Voc Rehab assistance, etc.), will be coordinated with all other aid offered and that the coordination of these additional resources may result in changes to the types and amounts of financial aid initially offered by California State University, Fullerton.

  • DISCLAIMER:Federal regulations require students to notify the Office of Financial Aid of any scholarship and/or stipends they are receiving, which includes awards issued by academic departments, as well as those paid directly to the students. All financial aid funds - including scholarship/stipends - are taken into account when determining your eligibility for all other financial aid award(s).

ORANGE COUNTY VETERANS INITIATIVE SCHOLARSHIP

The Orange County Veterans Initiative Scholarship is funded through a partnership with the Orange County Community Foundation to enhance the Veterans Resource Center’s commitment to serving and supporting our student-veterans’ educational goals. Preference will be given to students who have exhausted or are near exhaustion of VA education benefits for this scholarship, but those on benefits are eligible to apply.

Requirements:

U.S. military veteran
Demonstrate financial need
Currently enrolled and will be attending CSUF in Fall 2026
Taking a minimum of 6 units
Contractual agreement and follow up with a VRC professional staff member is required after scholarship has been awarded.

Personal Statement (1-2 pages) outlining:

-Military experience

-Educational and career goals

-Financial need

-How this scholarship will impact your educational outcome (i.e. retention, GPA, graduation)

A pdf copy of your most recent Titan Degree Audit (TDA)

GERALD "TED" BURGESS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

This memorial scholarship was established by Ted’s sister, Judith Wells, and his best friend, Richard Palicz, in memory of Gerald “Ted” Burgess, who was a Vietnam War veteran. Ted went to school at CSUF while serving in the California National Guard. He graduated from CSUF in 1974 with a degree in Business Administration and, soon after, founded his own company in petroleum and mining hard metals. He had eight patents to his name.  This scholarship is offered to support student-veterans who have exhausted or will exhaust their VA educational benefits prior to the fall semester and who are near completion of their educational degree.

Eligibility:

Must be a U.S. military veteran

Students who are near completion of their educational degree

Demonstrate financial need

Currently enrolled and will be attending CSUF in Fall 2026

Taking a minimum of 6 units

VETS AND CADETS ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

Scholarship awards are open to new and continuing CSUF students who are pursuing an undergraduate or a graduate degree and are serving, or have honorably served, in any branch of the U.S. armed forces, including as a cadet in ROTC. Qualifying students will be considered, regardless of benefits received from the GI Bill.
