Microblog Previews

Previews allow the blog content to show up on any page in the site and link back to your main blog page. Think of this like an RSS feed or news list that helps to drive users to the full story. Previews are an easy way to make landing pages or the site homepage feel like its getting regular updates without needing to change content manually.

Keep your main microblog page in the same place. URLs are linked to that position and when it changes you may be stuck updating all your blog posts.

You can set the microblog page in the info block set up file. In the microblog interface screen there is a field that takes the location where you want to display your full content.

Blog Preview Styles

Adding one of the preview styles will create links to your microblog posts rather than the whole microblog.

Controlling Images & Text

The some styles will allow the images to be 100% of their shape while others try to crop them in order to keep the structure more uniform looking. These are previews and not meant to be the full blog post.

These styles will crop or expand the image so that it maintains a common look across all stories. Relaize that depending on your image size it may cut out part of the image in the preview.

The text-crop style will will reduce the story text to just two lines and will automatically add the "..." if there is more text than can be displayed.

Adding Limits

The default number of items is 10. If you want to only show a few items you can use the following style class along with your preview class.

preview-limit-(number)

For example "preview-limit-3" will only show 3 items in your list. Scroll down on the page to see limits in action.

Preview Limits

The maximum number of posts that we show is 10 by default. You can reduce that from 1 - 9 by using the preview-limit-(number) style. You can see examples below how this works.
