Outstanding Titan Advisor Awards
If you are a student and would like to nominate your Academic Advisor for the Outstanding Titan Advisor Award, please complete and submit the form below. All submissions are DUE November 30th, 2012 at 5:00 PM.
Quality academic advisement has significant impact on student success and requires an extreme dedication to providing accurate information at all times. For that reason, it is important to recognize the advisors who have made an impact on your academic success and contributed to your overall experience at CSUF.
As you complete the form, please pay special attention to the Criteria listed below
Criteria - The Award Selection Committee will evaluate nominations on the evidence of qualities and practices that distinguish the nominee as an outstanding academic advisor or faculty advisor. Such evidence may include:
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to support you with academic challenges by providing a solution centered approach without sending you to multiple departments
- Connects you with possible internship, career, and research opportunities
- Provides accurate and thorough advisement information while utilizing the Official Advising Document - The Titan Degree Audit
- Makes recommendations and suggestions based on your individual needs and interests
- Establishes an educational, professional, and collegial atmosphere allowing you to explore academic options, by providing education on the topic so that you can make an informed decision.
- Demonstrates a caring, helpful attitude toward all students while maintaining the highest level of respect at all times
- Creates an environment where you have the opportunity to discuss your academic goals and develop strategies for accomplishing them
- Facilitates graduation and provides advisement that will allow you to most efficiency progress toward your degree!
Please summarize the nominee's qualifications and why the individual is being nominated for the award. It is not necessary to address all of the criteria listed, but rather this document should provide the evidence and specific examples that demonstrate the nominee's outstanding performance.
