Transferring Courses

Plan ahead to avoid transfer anxiety!

1) If you are currently a student at a California Community College:
  1. Talk to your community college advisor or consult the Transfer Center at CSUF or your pre-transfer institution.
  2. Assist.org provides articulation agreements between California Community Colleges and the CSUs.

    Assist.org can help you determine:

    • which classes will transfer to CSUF
    • which classes will count for General Education credit
    • which courses will count for your major
    • CSUF-Community college course equivalencies

If you are having trouble understanding how to use Assist.org, take one of these quick tutorials

  3. Use CSUMentor.org to better understand your completion of General Education requirements. After creating an account, use the Transfer Planner to help visualize which courses are still needed to complete GE.

Students can transfer a maximum of 70 units from a California Community College and a maximum of 90 units from a four-year/out of state institution (can be combined with credit from a California Community College).
