The checklist below summarizes all of the requirements for graduation.
Students should periodically review the items below to determine
their status for each requirement.
Complete the general education (GE) program.

Complete the requirements for the
major. The requirements may include both specific courses
and a minimum number of units. Many majors require minimum course
grades for specific required courses or for all courses applied
to the major.
Complete elective classes to accumulate the minimum
units required for the degree.
Complete the minimum number of units for the degree (120-138,
depending on the major)
Complete at least 40 units of upper division courses (300-400
level). This includes courses for GE, major and electives.
Complete at least 30 of your total units in residence (at
least 24 of the 30 must be upper division and at least 12 of
the 24 must be in your major).
Satisfy the Upper Division Baccalaureate Writing Requirement
Pass the Junior Level Examination in Writing Proficiency
(EWP), and
Pass the required writing course(s) designated by your
major
Apply for graduation check approximately one year (two semesters)
before graduation.
Submit graduation check form to your major department for
completion of the "major" section of the form. Pick
up the completed form at the Major department and return it
to the Graduation Unit by the last day of classes of the semester
preceding the semester in which you anticipate graduating. See
class schedule each semester for specific deadline dates.
Finish with at least a 2.0 (C) average:
In all courses at all colleges or universities (cumulative
GPA)
In all courses at CSUF (CSUF GPA)
In all courses in your major (some majors require a C
or better in each or specific courses, other majors require
a C average)
Count no more than:
36 CR/NC units toward the degree
30 units of credit by examination (including AP credits)
24 units taken through extension (extended education)
