Faculty Affairs and Records Mission Statement

The mission of the Office of Faculty Affairs and records (FAR) is to provide a range of services and support to faculty, campus administrators and staff on the implementation of campus policies and procedures for academic employees. FAR provides training and guidance on the Collective Bargaining Agreements for Unit 3 (Faculty) and Unit 11 (Teaching Associates, Graduate Assistants, and Instructional Students Assistants). It is our goal to administer academic employee processes effectively and efficiently and to serve as a resource for faculty throughout their CSUF careers. FAR coordinates the following academic employee processes: appointments, including management of the automated appointment process; Retention, Tenure, and Promotion (RTP); Full-Time Lecturer Reviews; faculty salary increase programs; including Range Elevation; Faculty Hearing Panel (FHP); paid and unpaid leaves of absence including sabbatical, difference-in-pay, maternity/paternity, and medical leaves; fee waiver for faculty and their dependents; the Faculty Early Retirement program (FERP); and visas for international faculty. FAR is the official repository for documents and correspondence concerning full-time teaching and administrative faculty. FAR has responsibility for retaining documentation pertaining to employment, reappointment, tenure, promotion, leaves of absence, grievances, disciplinary actions and separations
