Discover Faculty360 at Cal State Fullerton

Faculty360 is an innovative platform at Cal State Fullerton designed to help promote the academic achievements and activities of our faculty to on-campus collaborators, our campus community, and the media. Faculty members are encourage to participate by reviewing their academic information and building their professional profile , which you they then choose to make public. A public view allows external partner researchers to find CSUF faculty, and the media to call on their expertise.

Strengthened by more than two years of development focused on promoting scholarly research and achievements, listening to faculty requests, and implementing user feedback during a faculty pilot launch, Faculty360 offers ways to: 

  1. Find research collaborators across campus
  2. Generate CVs in multiple formats
  3. Reduce the need for manual data entry
  4. List and promote your published work
  5. Consolidate required content for performance reviews

Data from campus systems have been imported into the Cal State Fullerton Faculty360 Portal to reduce the need for manual data entry.

How will this platform help the faculty and the university?

Using the California State University, Fullerton Faculty360 Portal, faculty can:

  • Find research collaborators across campus

What is the difference between this new platform and the platform my college currently uses?

The new platform (Faculty360) highlights faculty members’ CVs, biography, published works, expertise and research areas. It unifies how all faculty are highlighted on the university’s website. The new platform also is compatible with photo and video options.    

What is the timeline or deadline for my participation?

All faculty are encouraged to complete their profile by the end of summer 2025, although there is no specific deadline to complete their profile. 

Am I required to participate?

We encourage all university faculty, both part-time and full-time, to use this platform to unify how our campus faculty posts their profile, information and accomplishments. Data — such as teaching, Senate committee services, grants, and publications — available from these university systems have been imported into the Cal State Fullerton Faculty360 Portal to reduce the need for manual data entry. Faculty members need to verify that information and edit them as appropriate. 

How often should I update my profile?

Faculty members are encouraged to update profiles and their list of publications as frequently as possible, but at least each semester.

Is there a tutorial that explains how to build out my profile? Where?

Yes, the Faculty360 user manual and the video playlist will help you to build out your new profile.

 

 

How much information can the university upload for me?

Data — such as teaching, Senate committee services, grants, and publications — available from these university systems have been imported into the Cal State Fullerton Faculty360 portal to reduce the need for manual data entry. Faculty members need to verify that information and edit them as appropriate. 

Is there someone who can help me upload my information?

We encourage faculty to reach out to the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs for help. It is helpful for faculty members to upload their CV in one document, while reaching out to ORSP. Please choose to and “sign in with your company account” (This will bring you to a single sign-on account through your CSUF portal, where you can sign in with your university email and password). 

Please be sure to include the following information in your CV:  Academic titles, areas of research, and published works (with links to the publications).

How does the university’s public relations team encourage the media to use the Faculty360?

The university’s public relations team within Strategic Communications trains media to use this site as a way to search by keyword, learn more about the faculty members’ expertise, and connect with faculty researchers directly. This comprehensive platform will inform platforms across the university’s colleges and departments, and eventually replace the CSUF Faculty Experts Guide. Department heads will be able to build reports of faculty activity for use in various campus processes. Additionally, these completed profiles will inform the university’s Strategic Communications/Public Relations team, which promotes your research and expertise to the media and generates and highlights content for the CSUF News site.

Can I export my profile into a CV for a specific purpose (a RTP or grant submissions)?

Yes, there are several standard CV formats available (including RTP,  grant-specific and accreditation formats). Faculty members also can export into a Word format and make edits. They also may be able to develop, customize and edit their personal CV format.

Other Support Available

The Faculty Development Center (FDC) will offer virtual drop-in tutorial workshops on the third Friday of each month at 10 a.m. to assist faculty in utilizing the Faculty360 platform. Additionaly, the Division of Information Technology created a support library of guides and a video tutorial. The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs has a staff member trained to assist you in uploading materials to the site.
