Welcome
The USA-Uzbekistan collaboration for Research, Education and Student Training is the result of collaborative efforts started in 2011 by Dr. Zair Ibragimov at California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) and a group of mathematics faculty at Urgench State University (Uzbekistan). To this end, we have organized three workshops (Fullerton 2011, Urgench 2011, Fullerton 2013) and two larger-scale USA-Uzbekistan conferences (Fullerton 2014, Urgench 2017) in Mathematics. There were several delegation exchanges: CSUF hosted four Uzbekistan Higher Education delegations (2011, 2013, 2019, 2020), CSUF delegation visited Uzbekistan (2012 and 2014). Under the NSF IRES Program, 19 U.S. undergraduate students spent two months in Uzbekistan during summer 2017, 2018 and 2019 to conduct research in Mathematics. Under the CSU-LSAMP IRES Program, 12 California State University students spent two months in Uzbekistan during summer 2017, 2018, 2019 and winter 2022 to conduct research in Mathematics, Physics, Biology and Biochemistry. All the activities scheduled for 2020 and 2021 got cancelled due to the pandemic.
Activities planned for summer 2023:
- International Research Experience for Students (IRES), Urgench State University, June 3 - July 23, 2023. http://www.fullerton.edu/ires-uz/ires/
- Advanced Studies Institute in Analysis on Fractal Spaces and Dynamical Systems, Urgench State University, August 1-12, 2023. http://www.fhttp://www.fullerton.edu/ires-uz/asi/asi_fractalspaces/asi_fractal-dynamical.php
