Letter from the President

It is an honor to be the 2008-2009 President of the Titan Athletics Club and to follow in the footsteps of our past presidents Geno Effler ’77, Kirk San Roman ’83 and Roger Kotch ’81. As a graduate of Cal State Fullerton (Class of 1967), a former student-athlete (Men’s Tennis) and a Fullerton parent (Tamara ’04, Marina ’08 and Tim ’10), I am well aware of the excellent quality of education offered to our student-athletes.

There may never have been a time in the history of Titan Athletics in which so many of our intercollegiate athletic teams are poised for such continued and improved success on the athletic fields, courts, diamonds, and most importantly, in the classroom.

Titan Athletics is dependent on the financial support provided by alumni, athletics parents, fans and the community.  I have met many of our student-athletes and they are immensely grateful not only for the financial support of their education and sports through the Titan Athletics Club but also for the presence of fans at their athletic contests. Thus, I encourage you to continue to financially support our student-athletes generously when contacted through Titan Athletics Club outreach programs such as team phonathons, volunteers, solicitation letters, and events.

We have a proud tradition with 12 national championships including four NCAA Division I Baseball championships and one Division I NCAA championship in Softball and in Women’s Gymnastics.  In an era of state budget cuts, your continued and increased support of our student-athletes is more important than ever for the Titans to achieve our goal of continued success.

It’s always a great day to be a Titan!
