Titan Tribute: Athletics Hall of Fame

Titan Tribute – Class of 2009

The Titan Tribute: Athletics Hall of Fame celebrates Cal State Fullerton’s rich athletic history. The Hall of Fame inductees are comprised of outstanding former university student-athletes, athletics department personnel, friends and supporters of Cal State Fullerton athletic programs. This special event not only recognizes the honorees, it also celebrates Cal State Fullerton’s rich athletic history, including 12 national championships.

In 2005, Cal State Fullerton began this biennial tradition, inducting a new class into the Hall of Fame. On October 10, 2009, Titan Athletics inducted its third class of athletes and coaches. The class included professional football's career passing leader, Damon Allen, a national softball player of the year, Connie Clark, a nine-time All-American gymnast, Barbie Myslak-Roetert, the diminutive left-handed pitcher who helped change the complexion of West Coast college baseball, Dan Boone, and the father figure for Titan football for its final 13 seasons, Coach Gene Murphy.

Damon Allen, Connie Clark, Barbie Myslak-Roetert, Dan Boone and Coach Gene Murphy, respectively, comprise the Hall's third class of inductees.

The next Titan Tribute: Athletics Hall of Fame will take place in the Fall of 2011.

"I was raised by a single mother [who] held two jobs. Even though she was active every day, working both day and night, she would find the time to reach out and help others. She put that giving feeling into me a long time ago, and it just stayed with me."
