Mechanical Engineering

The Mechanical Engineering program at Cal State Fullerton provides a solid foundation for professional engineering careers in private industry and government. It offers students opportunities to be involved in the design, research, development, manufacturing, testing, distribution, support, maintenance, and recycling of devices and products. The undergraduate curriculum is designed to prepare students to gain a firm understanding of science, mathematics, and engineering in a modern technological society. The graduate curriculum is designed to provide a specialized education for career advancement or further work towards a doctoral degree program.

Student Participation in Research

Students interested in a specific field of Mechanical Engineering can get involved in the faculty's research. Under the faculty's supervision and advice, students conduct research and design projects.

Seniors in EGME 414/419 (Design Project) use their mechanical engineering knowledge to design and build a prototype and prepare a final design product. Teamwork and communication skills are as important as their technical knowledge.
