Basic Needs Services offers several presentations, trainings and workshops for CSUF students, faculty and staff to help support students’ Titan Experience. Information about workshops offered for students, trainings for faculty and staff, and how to request presentations can be found below. HEALTHY EATING
SERIES

These workshops examine ways students can access and make healthy eating choices throughout the academic year from both on and off-campus resources.

Workshop topics include CalFresh benefits and eligibility, maximizing grocery budgets for healthy eating, eating healthy during finals, and more!

Healthy Eating and what makes a balanced diet.

FINANCIAL LITERACY SERIES

These workshops examine a variety of financial well-being and literacy topics to support students both during their CSUF experience and to provide skills and knowledge for long-term use post-graduation.

BASIC NEEDS AMBASSADOR SEMINARS 

These workshops are specifically for undergraduate and graduate students to learn more about basic needs insecurity issues facing college students, how they can support their peers, and learn about available on and off campus resources to provide support.

*The Basic Needs Ambassador Training series is specifically for faculty and staff through the FDC.

Basic Needs Services Overview

Total Time: 30 minutes

This presentation is an overview of  Basic Needs Services and the various programs and forms of available support (including food, temporary housing, and financial assistance). 

 


Basic Needs Ambassador Training

Total Time: 1.5 hours

The Basic Needs Ambassador Training examines current trends realted to food, housing, and financial insecurity, relevant cultural considerations, and recognition of boundaries necessary for working with students who experience basic needs insecurity. Participants will gain knowledge and skills that facilitate connecting students with resources.

Titan Bites Administrator Training (Faculty and Staff)

Titan Bites is a free food program that invites students to be an after-event guest when a campus catered event is over and food is available. Full-time faculty and staff can become approved administrators to send Titan Bites alerts through the iFullerton app. Please note graduate and undergraduate student staff are ineligible to send Titan Bites alerts.
