Chemistry and Biochemistry Majors Advisement

Procedures for Mandatory Advising

  • Every Chemistry or Biochemistry major has an assigned advisor.
  • A week prior to advisement time you will be contacted by your advisor by email and told how to go forward with making an appointment and what to do to prepare for the advising meeting
  • If you have not been contacted by your advisor, please contact Dr. Paula Hudson
  • In order to register, all majors in the School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics must attend an advising session with their Department Advisor. You will not be allowed to register for classes until you have attended an advisement session.
  • Do this as early as possible.
  • When you come to your Advisement Session, please make sure you have completed what the advisor requested to allow adequate time to discuss your upcoming academic plans and any questions you may have.
  • Upon completion of the advisement session, your advisor will contact the person who will remove the hold from your records. It is up to you to follow up a few days after the appiontment to make sure your hold has been released from your records.
  • Transfer students need to have prerequisites approved by the department, and be permitted to register online for classes with prerequisites.
