ECS STUDENT PROJECTS SHOWCASE & AWARDS 2016

The 2016 ECS Student Projects Showcase & Awards was held on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 in the Titan Student Union.  This event was an opportunity for students in all disciplines to showcase their senior design, research & collegiate competition projects to ECS donors, alumni, industry supporters, and University leaders.  The showcase and competition assembled the outstanding capstone, senior design and collegiate competition projects from across each of ECS’s departments of Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.  Awards were given in three categories:

  1. Best in College / Engineering
  2. Best in College / Computer Science
  3. Best Multidisciplinary Project / Ed Huizinga Innovative Idea Award

 

Awards:

  • Best in College – Computer Science: Predicting Sentiment in social media posts using visual and textual features by Gabriel T. Giancristofaro.
  •  3rd Place – Engineering: Application of Emerging Techniques and Technologies in Rocket Engineering by Adrian Iniguez, Pablo Vazquez, Raul Perez, Sara Martinez, Christian Fascio, Jeff Lopez, and, Irvin Medina.
  •  2nd Place – Engineering: Bristol Industries Automation by Taylor Cerini and Gaby Martinez.
