Undergraduate and Graduate Degrees in Entertainment and Tourism Studies
Overview In these interdisciplinary programs, entertainment is broadly defined covering not only traditional television, film, and music industries, but also other entertainment-related fields such as tourism, sports, gaming, merchandising and retail stores and new media. According to industry leaders, to succeed in these fields, individuals must understand both the business and creative facets of entertainment and leisure. Thus, our programs are designed to cross-train students and prepare them for a wide variety of careers as business professionals, entertainers, artists or entrepreneurs. Students will learn general principles that apply to most all forms of entertainment and leisure, as well as have the opportunity to select more specialized courses based on their own interests. These programs, however, are not limited to students specifically interested in careers in entertainment and tourism. Entertainment is a driving force in contemporary society. Thus, the study of entertainment and it's vast array of industries can provide valuable insights for anyone interested in developing a comprehensive understanding of today's world.
