The Intent to Apply (ItoA) process helps CSUF students and alumni get started with their health professional school application journey. Through Intent to Apply, students work with the Health Professions Advising Office (HPAO) to prepare application materials, receive guidance, and request a committee letter or letter packet.

First-Time Applicants

If this is your first time applying to health professional school through HPAO, complete the First-Time Applicant Packet. This packet is for students who are establishing an Intent to Apply file and requesting support throughout the application process.

This packet includes:

  • Intent to Apply forms
  • Instructions for submitting required materials
  • Committee letter requirements and deadlines

Packet will be available once the cycle opens.

Reapplicant

If you applied during the previous application cycle and are applying again, complete the Reapplicant Packet. This packet allows HPAO to update your application file and continue supporting you during your new application cycle.

This packet includes:

  • Reapplicant forms
  • Updated submission requirements
  • Committee letter requirements and deadlines

Packet will be available once the cycle opens.

Letters Packet Only

If you do not need a committee letter but would like HPAO to collect and submit your letters of recommendation, complete the Letter Packet Application.

This packet includes:

  • Letter packet request forms
  • Instructions for submitting letters of recommendation
  • Submission requirements and deadlines

Application Fees

Students participating in the Intent to Apply process are responsible for applicable HPAO file fees. Fees support the processing and submission of committee and letter packets to professional schools.

Committee Letter

A committee letter is a letter of recommendation written on behalf of the CSUF Health Professions Committee, which is made up of faculty members who support students pursuing careers in the health professions.

Students interested in requesting a committee letter must indicate their request through the Intent to Apply application and submit all required materials by the established deadlines. Missing required materials or deadlines may result in the loss of eligibility for a committee letter.

A committee letter provides an additional perspective on a student’s preparation, experiences, and qualifications as a health professional school applicant.
