Summer Conference Student Assistant (SCA)

Position Overview

The Summer Conference Assistant (SCA), under the leadership of the Assistant Director of Conference Services and Off-Campus Housing, will assist with the student leadership, administrative, and customer service functions of summer conference operations. This position will serve as our service for evening and weekend duty to ensure the security of the community, responding to after-hours emergency calls, resident concerns, and resident crises.  This position will assist summer conference guests, facilitate check-in and check-out of conference groups, prepare and deliver linens to conference guests, oversee meeting room set-ups and meeting room technology, prepare all conference materials, and work on special projects for inventory, upkeep, and organization for Housing and Residential Engagement needs. This position also may include other various administrative and clerical duties in support of the Housing and Residential Engagement operation, not limited to: sorting, distributing and forwarding mail; sorting, testing, maintaining an inventory of keys; preparing documents and materials for summer session and academic year move-ins; completing room inspections; and answering phones.

Their contributions are essential to creating a positive residential experience for all Titans.

Office Assistants

Office Assistants

Office Assistants support Housing and Residential Engagement by serving as the first point of contact at the Housing Office, Redwood Reception, Holly Mailroom, Redwood Mailroom, and during Housing Tours. They assist residents and guests with customer service needs, lockouts, phone calls, and equipment checkouts, while also preparing event spaces and supporting community programs.

Peer Mentors

Peer Mentors

The Peer Mentors (PMs) provide academic support and direction by introducing residents to academic resources, supporting and encouraging residents to pursue academic success, and hosting study sessions and academic focused workshops. Peer Mentors have the opportunity to mentor residents in one on one and group settings.

Facilities

The Facilities Student Assistants are student employees who work with the our Facilities Operations team to assist with the functions of student housing operations. This will include a variety of work assignments including light grounds keeping, minor plumbing repairs and tasks, minor lighting replacement, door lock repairs, painting, occasional custodial related tasks, moving of furniture and equipment, and trash and litter removal.
