Instructor Changes

  • For state support classes in Fall & Spring: You can make instructor changes directly through PeopleSoft Schedule Class Meetings
  • For self support classes (Summer/Winter/Fall/Spring): Please submit a Schedule Change Form (SCF).
  • If the faculty member is not available for selection in the dropdown, submit a Faculty Profile Request Form.

  • If the Primary Department needs to change, email [email protected]
  • If the faculty member is tenure track, make sure the Term Workload page says FT and not PT.
  • If the job code is not available for selection through the Empl Rcd# magnifying glass, please follow up with Payroll/HR to ensure that all hiring paperwork is complete.

Schedules Change Forms (SCF) may be submitted through Smartsheet for approval.

  • Schedule Change Form Smartsheet
    1. Download the PDF, then fill out the Semester and the applicable fields.
    2. Save the PDF to your computer. Attach it to the Smartsheet under "File Upload."  Fill out all the questions on the Smartsheet. Click Submit.
    3. The approvers will be emailed a link to the Smartsheet submission. Click "Open request" in the email and look for the PDF/attachment to review.
  • Chairs and Associate Deans will receive email notifications to review and approve the requests accordingly. You may request the status of the request by emailing [email protected]

Schedule Change Form

Submit the following change requests for approval by the Chair and Associate Dean


  • Add a class
  • Cancel a class
    • To change the meeting pattern, you must cancel the existing class and add a new class with a new section number.
    • To change the session, you must cancel the existing class and add a new class with a new section number.
    • To change the section number, you must cancel the existing class and add a new class with a new section number.
    • To change the modality, you must cancel the existing class and add a new class with a new section number.
  • Room change
  • Add a class note
  • Grading Basis change (UOP/GOP courses to GRD/CNC only)
  • Unit Value change (variable unit courses only)
  • Add single-date meeting patterns during the semester where the days/times were already reserved for the entire semester. (e.g., midterms, required class meetings for hybrid classes) Note:  As students are not auto-notified by the system when meeting patterns are updated, meeting pattern changes that result in class schedule conflicts for enrolled students will require cancel+add.
  • Location change (FULLERTON, ABROAD, OFFCAMPUS)
  • Topic change
  • To ‘force’ two classes into the same room without combining them, type in the Comments: [These class sections] will use [this room] during the same time: [meeting pattern].

You can make the following changes immediately without approval directly through PeopleSoft pages:

“Update Sections of a Class”


You can access these two pages in PeopleSoft to make immediate changes for the following fields without having to submit an approval form.

Schedule Class Meetings

Go to: Curriculum Management >> Schedule of Classes >> Schedule Class Meetings

    • Instructor changes  (Fall/Spring state-support classes only)

Update Sections of a Class

Go to: Curriculum Management >> Schedule of Classes >> Update Sections of a Class

    • Enrollment Caps  (Do not set higher than the Room Cap)
    • Waitlist Caps (Do not set waitlist caps for courses with corequisites)
    • Class Status (i.e., Tentative to Active, Active to Tentative, or Active to Stop Further Enrollment)
    • Schedule Print/No Print
    • Department Consent
