Pa’lante Fellowship Program

The Pa’lante Fellowship Program provides a $1,000 scholarship to graduate students from underrepresented backgrounds. The need-based fellowship aims to provide underrepresented and/or first-generation students with mentorship for support in academic success and professional development. Students will receive mentoring from a faculty member who will provide social support and guide them through co-curricular activities like research experience, teaching experience, or internship.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be enrolled in a master’s degree program at Cal State Fullerton (Doctoral, Credential, and Certificate students are not eligible); the program must be within the college of Engineering and Computer Science, Health and Human Development, Humanities and Social Sciences, or Natural Sciences and Mathematics.
  • Must still have at least one full academic year left in their program (Fall 2023 – Spring 2024)
  • Must have a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or California Dream Act (CDA) on file and demonstrate a need of at least $1,000.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident or AB 540 eligible.

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

If selected:

  • Recipients will have to attend 4 mandatory cohort meetings throughout the academic year.
  • Recipients will have to attend 2 mandatory career development workshops throughout the academic year.
  • Recipients will have to maintain consistent communication with faculty mentor.
