Alumni Portal Goes Online
Alumni Portal Goes Online

By Jim Powell

Cal State Fullerton Alumni now have a special place of their own in web space with the addition of a new Alumni Portal. A joint project of Alumni Relations, University Advancement, and Information Technology, this new portal joins similar Portals already in service for students, faculty and staff.

The portal is currently in a trial release period; it went online in late February and subscribers to the Alumni Association’s “@Fullerton” online newsletter were the first invited to try out the new way to keep in touch with their alma mater—and each other.

The Alumni Portal is a centralized location where the CSUF alumni community can access e-mail, the online Alumni Directory, e-mail forwarding, campus news, and other alumni-centric campus applications/resources. Alumni will be able to get the latest on alumni news and events while staying in touch with the university. With the online Alumni Directory, grads can see what former classmates are doing and share their own information and photos; users can share as much, or as little, information about themselves as they like, and can change their online profile at any time. Tab buttons link users to the web pages of the Alumni Association, Athletics, the Library, and the department from which they graduated. Quicklinks connect alumni to other sites such as Student Loan Consolidation, Transcript Requests and Career Planning and information about taking classes.
New users also have the opportunity to provide feedback about the portal by way of an online survey.
