Dell 740 Refresh
We are replacing the computer towers for any rollout qualified user that currently has a Dell 740 desktop.  We will be upgrading over 800 PCs on the Fullerton Campus.  It will take us a number of months to complete the project, your patience is appreciated.
Rollout Qualified - You are considered rollout qualified if you are a Full-time Faculty, Full-time Staff, or Part-time Staff.
Email Notification - If you do not receive an email like your coworkers have; then you might not be a rollout qualified user or we have incorrect data on your hardware situation.  Please contact the IT Helpdesk if you think we have missed you.
Estimated Downtime - The upgrade process can take between one to two hours depending on the amount of data that you have on your Dell 740 computer.  Because we cannot predict the amount of time our technicians will take to finish a particular upgrade, we are giving ourselves a large morning or afternoon timeslot to help us stay on schedule.
On the day of the Upgrade - We will transfer your files, but please take appropriate precautions to preserve your most important files.  You need to be available to login to the computer to assist in the final configuration of your new system.  Otherwise, you will need to work out other arrangements with one of our Deskside Support technicians.  If you are unavailable, the field technician will copy your data but it will be hidden from your view.  You will have to call or email the technician to come back and finish the upgrade.  If you leave your system locked, the technician will unlock your system, and any unsaved work on your desktop will be lost.  Please restart your computer when you leave at the end of the day to avoid data loss.  Please do not allow your system to be locked during the week of your upgrade to reduce the chance of any data loss.
What Data is being copied to the new computer? - We will only be copying the data that is in your user profile; unless you direct us to copy other data.  This data will include your Desktop, My Documents, IE Favorites, My Pictures, My Music, and My Videos folders.
After the Upgrade - Verify that all your data is in the correct place.  We will hold on to your old data for one week after you receive your new system.  After that time period, there is a good chance that you may lose your data permanently.  If you find that you are missing something contact us immediately at (657)278-7777

iPad mini Trial, phase 2
On a limited trial basis, we are asking for volunteers that would like to turn in their iPad 2s for a 16GB iPad mini WiFi model.  We apologize in advance if we run out of stock before you have the chance to reserve your iPad mini.  If you connect your iPad to a smart classroom, you will need to purchase the special iPad mini dongle.  We will not provide any VGA dongles for this iPad rollout.

PC Laptop Refresh
If you are currently using one of the following PC laptops:  Dell Inspiron 710m, Inspiron 1318, Inspiron 1420, or Inspiron 1545, then you will have the option to upgrade to a new Dell Latitude E5430 laptop.  If you did not receive an email asking if you would like to be upgraded, then please contact the IT Helpdesk.
