Student Genius Corner (SGC)
In our continued effort to bring student services under the same umbrella, Information and Learning Commons (ILC) has created the Student Genius Corner (SGC) located in the Pollak Library, Titan Lab, PLN-030 (basement north).

- Testing center: The student testing center allows students to take tests for certain courses that they are enrolled in. Eligibility for online tests is determined by the professor.

Wireless and smart phone services
Use the Student Genius Corner online reservation system to make a reservation.
Student Long Term Laptop Checkout
Who can check out long term laptops:
For the pilot launch, students who are taking a class that uses the Virtual Computer Lab (VCL) will be eligible to check out the laptops. VCL allows CSUF students to access university-licensed computer applications via the Internet. Students will automatically be enrolled to the program by their instructors.
Laptop checkout criteria:
- Valid TitanCard is required.
- Laptops may be checked out for a longer term. Late fees of $25 per day will be applied for failure to return the laptop by the due date.
- By checking out a laptop for a longer term you will be responsible for the equipment being loaned out to you. Any loss of equipment, damages, or theft will result in a $250 fine.
- The laptop is installed with Windows XP, Microsoft Office 2010, and Adobe Acrobat X Professional. Students may install their own personal software if they wish to.

Smart Classroom Replication
A mock environment for smart classrooms is located in PLN-111. The room is equipped with a lectern and equipment used in smart classrooms. Please visit the ILC Support Desk on the first floor of Pollak Library North for reservation information.

Media Distribution
Students may pick up a free 30-day trial version of Adobe CS5 Design or Master Collection (for PC & Mac) at the Student Genius Corner, located in Titan Lab (PLN-030). Please email SGC@fullerton.edu to make sure that we have it in stock.

Avoid Threats to your computers:Here are some practices that you should follow to avoid threats to your computer
- Never share passwords and passphrases
- Do not click random links
- Beware of email or attachment from unknown people
- Do not download unfamiliar software
- Do not propagate virus hoaxes or chain mail
- Log out of or lock your computer when stepping away, even for a moment
- Remove unnecessary programs or services from your computer
- Frequently back up important documents and files
- Treat sensitive data very carefully
