Armstrong-Butcher Conference Attendance Award Endowment

Support Earth Science and Geology undergraduate students attending professional conferences and meetings.

Coppel Graduate Science Award

Awarded to current graduate students in Geological Sciences who demonstrate high quality performance in classes and research and will enroll in at least 6 units in the upcoming fall semester. The award will be made on the recommendation of the entire full-time faculty of the department.

Clemens-Knott² Field Camp Scholarship

Funds provide scholarship support for undergraduates who will be attending the C.S.U. Fullerton field camp or a similar geologic-mapping-focused field camp. Women are encouraged to apply.    

Minimum G.P.A. of 2.5 or higher at the time the scholarship is awarded. Recipient is selected by the Department of Geological Sciences faculty.

John H. Foster Applied Geosciences

Support teaching and research activities associated with Engineering Geology and Hydrogeology.

Prem K. Saint Hydrology Award

Funds provide an award for Geological Sciences or Environmental Studies major with a G.P.A. of 3.0 or better for the previous academic year. Must show outstanding academic performance in course Work and/or research in Hydrology, Hydrogeology or Water Quality.
Award for Geological Sciences or Environmental Studies (with Environmental Sciences emphasis) major with a G.P.A. of 3.0 or better for the previous academic year. Recipient must show an outstanding academic performance in course work and/or research in Hydrology, Hydrogeology or Water Quality. Award based on the recommendation of the geology full-time faculty.

Marilyn A. Brown Scholarship

Funds provide scholarship support for graduate studies in the areas of paleontology, sedimentology, or stratigraphy.
Awarded to a graduate student conducting research in the general areas of paleontology or stratigraphy, and having an expressed or demonstrated interest in teaching or educational outreach.

John D. Cooper Award

Funds provide an annual award to a declared Geological Sciences major with outstanding performance in Geology Field Camp.
Awarded to a declared Geological Sciences Major with outstanding performance in GEOL 481A-Geology Field Camp. Selected by field camp instructor with approval of all full-time geology faculty.

Dr. Margaret Skillman Woyski Scholarship Endowment

Earnings from this endowment provide an award to a declared Geology major with a 2.5 G.P.A. or better with financial need and service to Geology Department or University.
Open to declared geology major with 2.5 G.P.A. or better for the previous academic year. Awarded annually to a student who shows financial need and outstanding academic achievement. Service to the department or the university is also required, i.e., involvement in the geology club, tutoring or participation in faculty directed research. The award will be made on the recommendation of the entire full-time faculty of the department.

Geology Field Camp Scholarship

Funds provide financial assistance for Geology majors participating in the Summer Field Camp program.

Geology Student Research

Provides funding for geology students to support direct costs associated with research for their undergraduate thesis. Students apply for the funds through their faculty mentor to a faculty committee for consideration.

Geology Earth Science Study Abroad

To support undergraduate students (minors or majors) or graduate students in the Geology/Earth Sciences with a scholarship to support their international travel (study abroad).

Department of Geological Sciences General Fund

For support of greatest needs within the Department of Geological Sciences.
