Knight of Flowers
By Chuck Grieb
Chuck Grieb
Professor, Entertainment Art/Animation, CSUF
Be careful what you say to your children. Watching Ray Harryhausen’s Jason and the Argonauts with his father, four year old Chuck Grieb asked how the skeletons “came alive”. His father’s answer, “They got skinny actors” led the boy to a quest for the truth and a lifelong love for the fantastic.
Currently a full time teacher, Chuck began his career in animation where he filled a variety of rolls, from storyboard artist, to animator, to character design, while working for studios including Disney and Nickelodeon. Chuck has authored How-To materials for Autodesk Maya, animated with 3D and 2D digital software, and is developing in his understanding of VR based animation tools.
Chuck's illustrative work has been recognized by a number of esteemed institutions including Spectrum Fantastic Art, Society of Illustrators Los Angeles, Infected By Art, Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, Imagine FX, and Exposé.
