Using a Headset Guide

ISDN PhoneISDN Phone

If you leave the handset in its cradle

  • Plug in the headset and turn it on.

  • When calls come in, you will have to pick up the handset to answer the call. Be sure to leave it off the hook during the call to avoid hanging up on the caller.

If you put the handset next to the phone

  • Plug in the headset and turn it on.

  • When calls come in, you will have to press the line appearance where the call is ringing or press the flash hook.

If you change the menu option

  • To change the menu option, press the menu button. Use the up and down arrows to reach the headset/handset menu. Press the menu button again. Use the up and down arrows to select headset and press menu again.

  • Plug in the headset and turn it on. When calls come in, you can press the speaker button to answer or you may press the line appearance that is ringing. To hang up, press either the speaker button or RLSE.

  • Remember that in order to answer calls using the handset, you will need to use the menu button to change it back.

ITE Phone

To use a headsetITE Phone

  • Plug the headset into the phone and turn it on.

  • Pick up the handset and lay it down on your desk.

  • Press Answer/Release to hang up.

  • When a call comes in, you will need to press Answer/Release or the flash hook to answer the call.

  • To hang up, press Answer/Release.

 

Do not use the SPKR button to answer calls while using a headset on an ITE phone. Do not leave the handset in the cradle while using a headset. Otherwise you will have to pick up the handset to answer a call on your headset.
