Fundraising Toolkit
Cal State Fullerton has two University Advancement supported platforms to you to utilize - Crowdfunding and our Day of Giving.
To receive donations, you must have a foundation account in place. You can search a list of funds. If no foundation fund exists, please contact your area’s Development Officer or Grace Johnson at grjohnson@fullerton.edu to assist you in determining how best to receive donations.
Platforms
Crowdfunding
Crowdfunding is a method of fundraising through the collective effort of friends, family, and fans. This approach taps into your network of contacts — primarily online via email and social media — for greater fundraising success.
You can utilize Cal State Fullerton’s crowdfunding platform during the fall semester. Key dates include:
- July 1 - Submissions officially open
- August 31 – Submissions close
- October 1 – Crowdfunding begins
- October 31 – Crowdfunding ends

Day of Giving
Giving days are 24-hour online fundraising challenges aimed at rallying groups of people to support the university’s colleges, programs, and scholarships. Like crowdfunding, this fundraising method taps into personal networks — exclusively online via email and social media — and leverages gift matches and challenges to increase giving.
You can utilize Cal State Fullerton’s platform during the spring semester. Here is what you need to know:
- Information Sessions - November & December 2024
- Project page application deadline - January 19, 2025
- Matching gift deadline - January 31, 2025
- Project page completion date - February 5, 2025
- Day of Giving - March 12, 2025
